What is this component?

I have what looks like a 1/2" cube black block on the end of a single wire pigtail. The block has a mounting flange that gets atteched and maybe grounded to the chassis There are at least two of them in the harness. One at the fuel filter and one at the Trailing coil bracket. The one at the fuel filter has the lead broke off. I ohmed the one at the coil and I get no reading. In looking at the FSM circuit diagram they may be Heat Hazard Switches. Is that what these are and if so I guess the broken lead makes no difference except for a fire.

One is a coil condenser and the other the oil pressure sender condenser.
