Question What color are 550 injectors?

I have the stock 4 x 460cc injectors and I want to try 550s in the secondaries. Is there an easy way to tell the 460s apart from 550s (high-impedance). My injectors have pink tops. Are the 550s the same color or are they different?

A friend of mine had some injectors that he thought were 550s. We swapped them in and I didn't notice any difference (power-wise and on my A/F gauge). So I don't think they were actually 550s and I need a way to verify.

Thanks for the help!
-Jonathan

(BTW -- I've heard both the 460s are sufficient argument and the 550s help arguments. I thought I'd try it out...if it's too rich, then I'll pull them out)

the 89+ 550's from the T2 are red (high resistance). The older 550's are brown/yellow

I will not comment about color, but I bought some 550's from Beck/Arnley thru Steve's Foreign Auto Parts in Ft Worth, and I can most certainly tell the difference. I have some 680's on order to replace the 550's. In the secondaries only. The 550 from Beck/Arnley were purple. I have some 8 spare injectors of which two are 550's. They seemed to be a touch darker redish. The only way I was able to tell what I had was to put them on a fuel rail and turn them on for one minute and measue the contents. Any way the main reason for this post is to say they help and the difference can be felt. Especially on top end. The car they were put in is a 87N/A.
