Question What BOV is this?!!

I'm sure many of you RX7 guys are familiar with this video, its an old video but I've looking everywhere to find out what Blow off valve this guy is using on his RX7? It starts with a nice "Pshh and ends with a high whistle", I'm thinking it's a Greddy Type-S but I've owned one and it didnt sound as cool as this. Maybe he attached a horn to it?

I know its not an HKS, because the HKS is just a straight High pitched whistle.
I've owned many BOVs for my MR2, and this is the sound I've been looking for forever. If you watch the whole video you'll know what I'm talking about, its a Mix of "Blitz/TurboXS RFL with a GreddyTypeS/HKS at the end"

Please let me know, I've been searching for the answer for decades!

Sounds like an HKS SSQV to me. Boost pressure and other stuff plays some part in the sound you get

Screw the sound....care about how it performs.

I've had the Greddy Type S, Turbo XS, and now have a Tial. It's the best one hands down.

How does that Tial connect? Is it a flange? seems like I remember seeing it was something special, not just a normal style weld on flange. Id like to try a Tial next since I sold my SSQV to a freind

What makes 1 blow off better than another (other than sound)? How the valve? How big it is?

how well they hold boost. and how much boost its cappable of holding...i like the hks because its a pull type valve meaning it wont leak where as the greddy s/rs are held down by a spring.

Well like I said, It soundsl ike mine, which is an HKS SSQV, but running higher boost will ussualy give a sharper sound than with low boost. Mine is stock boost so mine doesnt sound 100% like that but does have the same initial sound.

actually i think you are all wrong.. muhahahaha i think its a sard or apexi blitz... its a clean swoosh sound no whistle.. that whistling noise sounds like a t51r anti-surge compressor housing. if you notice on powering out in the straights its a clean swoosh.. then in the corners its swoosh and a whistle of the antisurge. the cameras microphone cant pick up all the frequencies of the turbo howling/whistling... so open style clean swoosh bov with anticompressor surge housing

Naa, It's still a Greddy S. It's got the exact same whistle, depending on how much pressure it's releasing is what sound it makes (I used to have one, but sold it because the sound was annoying.) The RS is just a rush of air, Simple and kinda quiet. Eventually I'll probably change to the HKS due to the reason listed already.

Okay it's confirmed. It's a Greddy Type S.

I found this video of this SRT guy that compares the Greddy Type S, RS and the HKS. Check it out! this guy goes BOV happy hahaha

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FszbPFnxZKE

1. I don't watch Initial D.... so...

2. They must drive better because they're from another country.
