yep. EGR+ the freeze plug under the primary ports, 2 bolts for the top mount starter (s5 only has 1), E cast front iron. mechanical metering pump front cover without the front mounts (pre FC) or turbo oil drain...

it actually looks unrebuilt too.

I'm guessing if he held a turbo in his hands and stood on top of the engine ........and ran in place. I guess that qualifys as running a turbo on that series four non turbo engine.

only issue i have with your ID
is that both G and D 4 port turbo blocks depending on the casting revisions
can be found in variations with 1 or 2 holes for the clutch inspections plate
( you call it top mount starter position )
i have examples of both types of FC 4 port plates with either variation around the inspection cover

Hey thread owner. Although there is no doubt this is a series four non turbo engine, I have a problem with this engine.

The front and rear rotor housing are similar and can be identifyed by the stamped R or F on the housings. See my attached jpg. I see the letter R on each of the rotor housings.

Please take a rag and clean the area in my jpg and see if that is what is there. Is there one F and one R or two R's?????? Thank you.

i'm not sure about the turbo engines, but the NA rear irons, the difference is that the S5 only has one bolt for the "top mount" starter location, to clear the intake, and the temp sensor thread is different. that one is obviously a 6 port...

on a turbo engine it doesnt matter if its got one or two bolts, right?

the front iron is different S4 and S5, but i forget what it is... i see the water pump shims though, s4...
