What 1/4 Time Did You Get Your First Time Trying?
I cant wait until the spring/summer when I can finally take my car to a track to see my 1/4 time, but this will be my first track trip ever and I don't want to look dumb with a slow *** time with my car. I was just wondering how much your 1/4 mile times have changed from just experience, not mods, and what your first 1/4 time was and what mods/car you had.

My first time out at the track i ran 14.904 in the 1/4 mile.
That was on my old motor with no porting with the following mods:
-Turbo back Racing Beat Exhaust
-Chipped ECU.
Thats it... Elevation here is 2200ft above sea level, i believe.

First time ever to a 1/4 track, all stock TII with a clutch with 81K miles that died 5K later:
15.3
2.5 60' <--ouch
92-93mph? I've forgotten, and someone was kind enough to take my slip...

probably not lookin for this, but first trip ran 15.1 in my 91 Talon TSI awd->stock. Best run was a 14.3 when my bov gasket blew
As for the t2, we shall see when the track opens in a month or two

as for me, my first time out i ran a measly 16.9 @85mph, but i didnt know how to launch or shift well. my next time out *with the same mods* i got a 16.0 at 88mph because i had worked on my shifting and launch. i could probobly goten that down to like 15.9-15.8 if i would have done everything perfect in one run. next time i go im gona have some more work done and smaller tires that will better compliment my gearing and i'll be shooting for mid 15's
just goes to show how important the right technique can be.

First time I ever ran my 88 SE it pulled a 18.2. Turned out the 5/6th weren't opening. After a few runs I got it down to 17.4 at best.
First time in my 88 GTU I did a 17.1
That was the oly time I ran it either.
Once the 88 GTU gets the rebuilt TII engine I'm hoping for low 14's /high 13's.
Also both of these cars blew their coolant seals(later on) so that might explain why they ran slow.

15.6 at 90 something in my 87 TII with 2.5" bonez DP and bonez high flow cat, stock Y pipe, and upgraded mufflers... also K&N drop in filter... pretty lame... then i ran 14.5@99.49 the next time i took it to the strip

My first time out was really sad. It was something like 17.5@88. At the time, the engine had 213k miles on it and the aux ports were wired open, so it had no low end power at all. Not quite PP levels, but it was approaching it. I totally bogged the launch and it took forever for it to get to get into its power band around 4k. Once it did, though, it hauled ***. Don't be too worried, though. Just go up against a crappy car and it wont look as bad. The car next to me was a stock auto civic, and I owned him.

My first run was a 16.8 with my n/a, that same car later ran a 15.5 that day, and then a 15.38.
My fastest time to date was a 14.6, and it was my first run of the night. It was never beaten. Well not yet, Ive got a few mods since.

i ran a 16.9 at 80 in my 4cyl probe w/ intake and exhaust. this is at 4200elev. i havent run the rx yet, but what elevations are you guys running at? 4k feet vs sea level is nearly a second difference.

hahaha!
my first time, I ran a 16.2@89 w/ 2.6 60ft.
then, the second run, I ran 15.8@89 w/ 2.3 60ft
this is with my 87' TII.. but I've got excuses
-my rear tires were inflated to max at 52psi
-I have over -2 degrees of camber in back
-my wastegate was stuck open(major lag
)
-my PD was leaking (I think, but I didn't know it then)
-I'm at 5800 feet, or more.
-and my car was loaded with a helmet, food, and some other stuff.
-and I had a cooant leak (although that probably didn't effect it at al
)

Thats a great time for a stock TII, I've never been to the track. My car has only run in the winter since I bought it in August of 02, damn shame, althought it's almost ready.......
