is it werth it
i was just reading the past couple of threads and started thinking 1. is it werth rebuilding my engine (152,000 miles on it) 2.it puffs out white smoke at over 4000 rpms 3.it wont rev past 3800 4.i have horrable throttle response i got beat by a volvo. so should i just buy a new engine or try to salvage the one i have
if the engine stumbles above 3800, you may have inoperative secondary injectors. if it only hesitates areound 3800, grounding may be the problem. white smoke is indicative of coolant seal failure.
as far as rebuilding it, i doubt you would be able to use all the parts from a tired block like that. the rotors, irons (assuming intact coolant seals), and e-shaft would be about all that are usable. rotor housings would be shot, especially if it is a 86-88 block.
