Arrow were s5 lsd's tagged??

I am tryign to figure out if my 91 coupe has a lsd, i read the faq and it says it might since it has both the A and B packages described. I looked at the diff itself and there is no tag but the faq says that s4's were tagged and doesnt mention s5's. I understand why they wouldnt be viscous lsd's dont require special fluid but is there any way of telling by just looking?

I have an S5 LSD and it was tagged -- obviously though if you do not have a tag that doesn't mean it's NOT an LSD.

The '91 A/B package cars were never officially claimed to have an LSD by Mazda, and it's VERY rare to find one with LSD... Chances are if it doesn't have a tag, it's just like nearly every other A/B out there...

Oh and if you can get a S4 LSD do it, because the clutch types are better anyways...

so I have a s4 lsd in my barn I am going to put on my s5... it has like 114,000 miles on it I think... is there anything I should do?

Also to check for lsd just spin the wheel if they both go in same direction its LSD if not then its not.

you can pull the axle, loosen the bolts on the circle, and pull the assembly out, take the lsd out, and measure the thickness of the discs

I thought LSDs spun the wheels in opposite directions?

I have an '88 GXL, which is supposed to have LSD, and the rear wheels spin in opposite directions when free spun.

My LSD has the axles spin in the same direction when free spun.

I also swapped ring gears from my 4.10 rear from my 5-spd to a S4 GXL LSD's case, from an auto, which is in awesome shape. It's not a difficult swap...

I'm pretty sure they should spin in the same direction.

A LSD spin in the same direction, until you, or the road, force it to turn at different speeds.

Mine spins the same direction when free spinning. (Turning by hand, rear wheels off the ground.

I laid two strips earlier today, which I could never do with my open differential.. Car feels a lot different after the swap.

No, an open differential, or a worn out LSD, or a unlocked viscous LSD will spin opposite directions.
