Welp... no more idle... gas additives to blame?

So last night I added about a quart of injector cleaner to the gas tank (yes the tank was almost full) and left the car to sit overnight... I figured it would disperse on its own. I took the car for a drive in the hills today. Pushed hard the entire time, all the power was there. Then I took her out of gear for a down hill coast and...

she dies.

So I decided I better start home, and get on the next connector back towards the city. An hour later I'm home... I was able to achieve abot a 100rpm idle by taking the idle rich/lean screw almost all teh way out.

I sprayed carb cleaner on everything in the engine bay to find a vac leak... nothing.

taht 100rpm idle isn't enough to catch on an rpm decel, so it looks like im back to heel-toeing stoplights for awhile.

The secondary plate adjuster screw had broken off, but when it did, I had a very decent 1100rpm idle... VERY consistent too. I checked the screw (even though the head is broken off, its still in the right place).

What could cause this (again?).

could the injector cleaner cause that type of problem (i used about twice as much as recromended...)

Don't feel like the lone ranger, there are plenty of Tonto's out there (including me) that have been bit in the *** by dumping injector cleaner in the tank...For some reason it likes to loosen everything up just long enough for the gunk to gather on our in-tank filters....Yours doesn't sound like a filter clog problem, though, if she's running good up high...When is the last time the injectors were serviced? How gunked-up is the small area that's at the primary throttle plate that's opened at idle?

The injectors have never been prof cleaned. I should have last winter, but ran out of cash during the swap.

I had the fuel pump out (with that stupid sock) last week due to a fuel wiring problem (shorted fuel pump circuit... fixed now.) There wasn't anything on the sock at the time, and I'm sure that was the first time the fuel pump had been removed in 10+ years, or ever.

The secondary (or is it primary) thing where the screw is broke off I did notice something different about. I used to be able to press it down, and it would move eveningly. Now though it feels kinda like it sticks at first, but as soon as it moves from home position, its even. Even so, thats before the rest of the intake and injectors.

I don't know if the issue is the fuel inj cleaner, but its defiantely strange how this all picked up very suddenly.
