Well, this would explain a sticking hatch...

Every time it rains, the hatch refuses to open on its own. the seals stick like glue.

Tonight after washing the car, i learned why:

They need to make minature plungers, because my pinking wasn't quite able to fit down those drain tubes. Guess I'll have to take a hanger to it tomorrow...

EDIT: ohh, and some before and after magic:

Before:

After:

don't ask what that discoloration is.. must have been water on the lens or something

mine keep on getting clogged regardless of how clean I get them. I park my car under a tree and debris is always falling down and then clogging them. Is there any solution to this?

if your sprayer thing on the end of your hose is skinny enough, just stick the end into the drain hole and very carefully start to turn the water on. worked for me. i had the drain tube aimed into a bucket and it looked like it was pinching a loaf.

theres no need to buy new tubing. you can even take the tubes all the way out pretty easily and clean them that way.

oh yeah nice bling too

Yeah, no matter how much I clean mine, they're always clogged less than 3 days later.

Or, we can just do like we do with everything else on the car. Port the water drains!

Just run a 14 gauge insulated wire through and "floss" the tube.

there is no easy way to keep them clean, i just keep a long piece of an old clothes hanger and it gets the job done, keep it in your spare tire well, just another tool that comes in handy. wire works too but the hanger will bust through just about any debris

Go at it with a coat hanger, and make sure the tube drains OUTSIDE the car, especially the one near the jack. If it drains into the car, you're asking for some good water damage, and possible rust.

I have an even better solution. how about swaping out the old drainage tubing for new tubing.

My point exactly, do you use yourself as an auxillary grounding point or what?!

Yes, it did. Beforehand it would almost always get stuck and not open until I slammed my car door, now it pops right open upon lifting the lever.
