Well, found an FC im my Area. (dont know what to do)

My friend found this the other day:

What the guy said: This is definately a project car. I bought the car w/ the intentions of fixing it up but I don't have the time or $ right now. I did a compression test on both housings and they are way lower than spec (30 and 60) so IMO it needs a new engine. The interior is stripped for the most part w/ the exception of a couple pieces here and there. I'm asking $700 FIRM (won't negotiate). The car is located in libertyville, IL @ protegegarage (right accross from the train tracks).

--------------------------------

Ok, couple of things i noticed:

Rear tire is flat, front left has a spare on, with the orig rim in the background.
no Fan shroud.( cooling problems anyone? There might have been an E-fan there.
No A/C or P/S assembly. (dont care, just wanted to do myself, lol)
ODO has 49,000. yet, there is some minor rust in the engine bay.
almost no interior, etc.

Also, this thing has VERY poor comp (hopefully wasnt tested right)
and is even a 4 lug car (bad for me)

I would give 350 for it.. but thats about it. My friends sometimes tell me how, i shouldn't cheap out on cars. Imo, i think they are mostly right, because, getting this thing back up to spec, including all new fluids, tires, belts, etc. would be like,
1grand... at least... so I dont realy know just what to do.

your looking at 2-3k atleast. if not 3-4k. a rebuilt motor is 1500-2.5k alone. finding all the missing interior could be up to 600or700. tires, suspension another 1500.

IMHO it's junk

PASS. You should buy a 7 with a good motor so you can enjoy it as you fix it. The only way you should waste $$ on a NON RUNNING 7 is if the body is in mint condition. so on both counts: PASS. The right one will come along.

Well... whats the issue? Do you want it or not? Can you afford a rebuild? To me $700 seems like a fair price for a fairly clean chassis

BTW I see cancer below where the front bumper and 1/4 panel meet and in the engine bay by the strut tower.

$700 isnt a bad price i guess. id rather buy a fc with a blown motor than one that runs becuase its only a matter of time before it blows, at non running fc's are a lot cheaper. would i buy it? no way (beacause its NA)...but its not a terrible deal. ****, it only has 49k miles. definately check for rust though.

****.. i WAS offered a nice clean FC for 350 once, with a dead rotor... (0psi for compression test) Passed on that as well.

Being poor, and not being able to get a job SUCKS.(trip in the summer, cant get job till after it, and yes I'm still in HS, plz dont bitch about it)

I've seen quite a bit of realy clean S5 verts for sale.. only problem, is that they're red, and that that it's a vert TOO.

Hmm, maybe, get this, get vert, swap EVERYTHING form the vert into the coupe shell, add rollcage, and be done with it, haha.

Well, I'm shure this one will benefit SOMEONE who needs a frame, and does not give a **** about the rest. (blast it, paint it, put bedliner on the bottom, and u have a mint frame)

EDIT: also, i hate doing this, but the poor (60-30) comp COULD be something like a sparkplug that hasnt been tightened all the way, and the bonehead forgot about it, the tesyt could be not done right, etc. SO much possibilities... ****.

I think the Vert is the coolest FC. Red is the BEST color for the FC and you can build a nice 300HP Turbo Vert. Leave the top down the the *****-err-cats will be leaving slug trails all over the place. To each his own, i guess.

BTW: the vert is 1% less rigid than the coupe so I don't know what your problem with the verts is.

I don't realy know. I do know however, that no matter what ANYONE says, you CAN put S5 vert tails on a coupe.

also, that it has little room for your stuff, no hard top, also, you need to keep a bible in the glovebox in case you ever roll over!

it has plenty of room, unless you're a girl and you need to pack up your whole house and tampons for a 2 day trip.

No hard top= trust me I've driven both NA, TURBO and NA vert and the vert is ridiculously fun. As long as you're not super retarded you shouldn't worry about a roll-over. If you manage to roll a lowered 7 then it's Darwinism calling your name. By Bible do you mean the FSM in case you need to fix something?

What year is it? Lowball him for an e-bay parts car. Might make some money on it. If you are going to pass let me know!
