Weird Things...

A few days ago I lost boost, my idle was stuck at about 1500 rpm, my dp started glowing, I started running richer and hotter than ever before.

I actually fixed my idle about 5 times, though It never seemed to work. The next morning my car would start to idle at about 1500 all day. I checked around for vacume leaks or bad solenoids, but came up with nothing so far...

1) check thermowax/ fast idle cam/ cold start system
2) running lean, not rich, makes you hotter
3) "untweak" all the idle adjustments you've done until you troubleshoot it down to the actual bad part, or you'll make it worse (assuming it was running great before)

werd id reccomend getting a racepipe or if you have emissions, go with a bonez high flow cat for rotary applictaions, if you have an NA, be sure to look up writeups on your 5/6th ports as they operate on back pressure, There are ways to modify them in order to operate correctly, do a search, there are hundreds of threads on them. Do you have a vac guage? if so what is it reading at? especially with turbo cars, running excessivly rich can send unburnt fuel into the turbo where it ignites in there causing the turbo to heat up to the point where it and the downpipe glow. id also look into getting a vac test at a local shop for about 30 bucks. that way it will be easier to pinpoint where the leak is originating from. -alex
