Weird thing just happened to me just now

So Im at a stoplight waiting to go and I figure, hey Im gonna have some fun and take 1st gear to redline. So light turns green and I go. About 75% throttle up to right at 7k, and right as the buzzer goes off it felt like the car sorta just bogged down and lost all power. Now maybe Im just being paranoid and thats just the car being inefficient at the point, or maybe Im imagining it, or do I have a serious inquiry here?

happens to me sometimes..

when I start dippin into the red, the car suddenly dies,

I think it's Fuel starvation, or Ignition break up... (most likely fuel)

i'm guessing u were on low(er) fuel...

Trying fill ur gas tank and trying again...

how old are ur soark plugs?

Im at a little under 1/2 tank and I have a Walbro 255, plugs are 3 months old.

Aaron, I thought that these cars only came with a fuel cut? My safc read a max revs of a tad over 7k

All RX-7s have rev limiters. Don't remember the exact number, but I think for the S4/TII it's around 8K.

Well I was nowhere near 8k, maybe I was just feeling things.

Do you really take it to the buzzer every time you redline? Even when I would race in that thing I would never get to the buzzer. As far as your plugs only being 3 months old, remember they are probably fouling up real quick because your dumping so much fuel in since you are untuned.

No, I usually shift a bit early.

Either way, I drove it again today and redlined 1st again and it had no problem so Im guessing I was just imagining things.
