weird reading testing tps

weird reading testing tps

well i cant exactly warm up the car because it wont idle but i unplugged the tps and tested it, with the throttle closed it red 1.75 ohms and at full throttle its supposed to read 4k-6k ohms but not even half throttle the thing is reading over 6k ohms. any input?

The WOT reading can occur before actual WOT so the fact that you're showing a WOT reading at half is not overly surprising, but WOT for a S4 should be between 4K and 6K OHMS. The fact that yours is over 6K might be a sign of a fried TPS. Can you adjust it at all to get it back within spec, or does it always show over 6K?

The sensor's range is from near 0 to about 6K ohms.
Installed & sitting on the hard idle stop, you want it set at about 1K.
