weird problem.

Car Specs:
1988 N/A 5speed.

Some times when I'm driving, my car will just dip out on me for a half second or so. Its like a miss times ten, and it happens randomly. I will be at about 4k rpms and it will just drop to 0 rpms then it will jerk back to 4k rpms.

I dont know if it's a coincidence, but i feel like it happens more often when I'm accelerating and around 3rd gear.

And also when I'm at about 60-70 mph it seems like it has a random small miss that happens every 5 to 15 minutes...

Any idea whats going on?
Any help is appreciated!

Could be one of those fantastic electrical gremlins that the FC is known for. You could run the car in your driveway and wiggle the harnesses around the trailing coil (this provides tacho signal). See what pops up?

I wiggled wires for an hour and it never missed a beat... Could the coil be going bad? I have no idea what's causing this
