weird idle! someone help!

hi, well anyways, when i start my car after the warm up, the idle rests at 1200 or so....

anyways, as i drive, if i step on the clutch at a red light BEFORE my rpms drop below 1000, the idle will stay at 1200.....

I experimented and found this result, if i was in 3rd gear, lets say.... then i let the rpm drop to less than 1000, then the idle will rest at 750....

what is wrong with my idle?? hope i was clear =)

oh, and i have a 89TII with greddy TD06 turbo installed + 2 extra injectors with greddy injector controller that was installed last week, and this problem came after i installed the greddy turbo....

thanks in advance!

Are you running stock ECU for the primaries?

So since the problems started with the turbo install, it's somehow freaking the ECU out with some form of abnormal intake airflow. I'm not a turbo expert, just a guess...

well last week i unplugged the battery for 5 minutes total.... so SUPPOSEDLY the ECU should have been reseted.... but still doing that... and the weird part is.... IF we assume it was due to vac leak.... it won't stay low when i let it drop lower than 1000...

i know, it is really weird, but thanks anyways Wayne, if u have any ideas feel free to give it ^_^

According to the infamous J-Rat, the S4 ECU's don't reset, they have no memory. I have yet to prove this one way or the other to myself, and always figured it did have at least some form of memory, due to the fact there is a hot 12v input that's energized even with the key off...

Actually this should be fairly easy for ya, because the problem started due to a component change, so you know exactly where to "zero in". You just don't know WHY it's causing it...

yeah.... i guess thast right.....
thing is assuming after i install these turbo and stuff, i have to reset the ECU to let it zero in...... but here it is again... if the idle is constantly higher, then assume that the air flow (at idle) is increased, so the ECU gives more fuel... but the droping thing..... THIS is making me insane!!

well if anyone reads this (seems like wayne and i are the only ones reading this thread) and know how to reset the S5 ecu, or have comments.... feel free to give them...
i am going to search for reseting ECU now...

edit: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ight=reset+ECU
found that.... is the BTN (body tail interior) + ECU memory? i'll just pull that and unplug my battery then...

I reset my S5 ECU by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and holding down the brake for a couple of seconds. Worked for me.

Unfortunetly, i'm not able to help you specifically. . I can tell you I could NOT get my idle down below 1000 on my rebuild, no matter what I did, until I did a complete emmissions removal. All of it, EGR, BAC, Etc, etc, etc. Anything not required for the engine to run was removed. now it's awesome, perfectly adjustable.. I do have to set it up just a tad, but that's nothing too major, I just need the time

check your air pump, if your air pump is faulty can cause flucuations in rpm's!

Do you happen to know what your fuel pressures are?

I still think somehow your new turbo is messing with the ECU (you had that figured out already though, lol)
