weird idle problem
hi, im a new member to this forum as i have recently bought a series 5 rx7.
I bought it as is with a fair bit of work to be done like paint, brakes and a general service. But picked it up cheap enough not to worry about it so much.
The car had been sitting for the last 10months and was started for the first time when i picked it up. Motor sounds in good condition only problem is the idle.
Once warmed up the idle constantly jumps from 1000k to 1500k backfiring and carrying on. It revs out clean but the revs just bounce around at idle.
I have adjusted the tps to sit at 1ohm but still didn't fix the problem. I took it to a rotary workshop and they plugged a light to it and adjusted it but still does the same thing? I don't know whats wrong i have checked all the vacumm lines for leaks, changed the plugs, oil, filter and fuel filter.
I checked the ohms from no throttle to full throttle and it jumps from 1ohm to 6.4ohms. does that mean the tps needs replacing or is there another problem some where?
i tested the ohms with the tps disconnected and the negative on the red/black wire and positive on green/red wire is that correct?
thanks any help would be greatly appreciated

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Sounds like the "Accelerated Warmup System" in action... Try starting the car in gear with the clutch depressed and see if that changes anything...
