Weird idle (no, not bouncing)

S5 JDM Tii so no AWS. RTek 2.1...

I started the car and it started at 1000rpm as it warmed up. Perfectly flat and smooth.

Once it got right under half on the temp gauge I verped it and the throttle settled at almost 1600; again perfectly flat idle. I pulled back on the throttle pedal in case it hung up but it stayed just below 1600.

I turned the a/c on and the idle droppped to 1500. Turned it off and it increased back to just below 1600.

I then pulled it out and drove it up the block and then the idle dropped to 740, again nice and smooth.

Seems like something hung up in the linkage. I'd sprayed it all with Royal Purple Max Film so it should be free moving.

Any ideas?

vacuum leak on the LIM to block caused this for me. (water seal oring pinched between the gasket. fix it then after readjusting the TPS everything was good.
