Weird *** electrical problem, please help!!
So I was driving my T-II last night and all the lights on the idiot cluster came on kind of dim, and they stayed on for a little bit but intermittedly came off and on at random times for various lengths of time for the rest of the night. But the weird thing was, when I got close to my house, whenever I pressed on the brake pedal my radio would lose power and then turn back on as soon as I let off the brakes. And I went to start my car today and it appears my battery is dead.
So my questions are:
1. is my alternator toast?
2. was my radio just shutting down due to lack of power once the brakes were pressed because of how much amperage the brake lights use, combined with my headlights being on?
3. who do I talk to about getting an FD alt. if my alt is toast?

I think I'm addicted
That happened to me.... while i was on the freeway
well i don't know if your problem is the same as mine was, but i had a bad engine ground wire.... it was shorting so it burned my MAIN 100A fuse. at first it had the symptoms like what u've described. then it just died... so i replaced the ground wire, and everything was fine
hope that helped. wish u luck ^_^

Thanks for that find 4rotor, I might have to jump on that one regardless of if my alt died or not
I'll check my engine ground strap as well.

Cybaster, how can you short a ground wire, lol?
Too much-get a voltage measurement from your alt, using a meter on the battery posts, after you've got her started again. 14 volts & over, start looking at your wiring... Under that, look at your alt...
