weight reduction?

weight reduction?

i have a 86 base,
can i take my BAC out and if i can, then can all the stuff that is attached to it go too?, also can i fit on 2, 4 piston brembo calipers in the front and in the back 2, 2 piston brembos

Yes, you can remove the BAC, but the question is , why would you want to? The BAC (Bypass air control ) valve is used to stabalize the idle of the car under any load conditions (electrical, braking, etc..) There is nothing to be gained by removing the BAC.

you may want to read the braking system thread.. it's awesome, also if your talking weight reduction you might want to consider messing with the cosmtic stuff and leaving the engine alone, besides the obvious air pump, somg and juck...

If you want to upgrade your brakes, why not swap to 5-lug and use the stock aluminum 4 piston calipers. These are the same calipers as on the 3rd Gen RX-7. What exactly do you have in mind that you need those brakes?

You do not need more braking power than the stock 5-lug 4 piston calipers can provide with an 86 base without any major mods.
