weighed my turbo converted "gxl"
I weighed my car at a truck weighing station since I know the guys who work there.
Original weight: 1220kg (2690 pounds) (without driver, stock "gxl" with mags)
After TII trasplant: 1340kg (2954 pounds) (with driver)
Au 1986 model, sunroof, power windows, rear wiper, steel TII bonnet, chrome 17inch wheels, air con, power steering, 1990 TII dash, TII engine and manifolds, TII ECU, single exhaust, gutted cat, 1/4 tank fuel.
just some info for ya's

****, gotta do the math now... :P
75kg...that's like 165 lbs. - so the converison added 100 lbs.???  Where did all the extra weight come from?  The turbo isn't more than 30 lbs.; the manifold isn't more than another 25 lbs. - there's still another ~45 lbs. still not accounted for?  Not to mention, the stock NA 13B runs that gawd awful excuse of an exhaust manifold - so it's an easy 50 lbs. gained somewhere?

I'm converting another GXL to Buick GN turbo status with aluminum N/A hood, '89-91 T2 rims (16lbs each), T2 rear diff/halfshafts, power windows/sunroof, a/c and p/s delete. Should weigh around 2725lbs with 1/2 tank of fuel and a full interior too!
A steel T2 hood you mentioned.... Ouch. At 2690lbs it is still around 110lbs lighter than most T2's.
