So I’m getting my late fathers 88 vert back from not running since for probably 17 years. Tank and fuel system full of varnished NY state high grade ethanol.
Ive got another post here troubleshooting the fuel and spark and compression all checking out. So I’ve thrown up my hands and we’re replacing the injectors my friends!
New ones have been ordered and cleaning the old gasket now.
When I got to the primary injectors all I can smell was that bad gas smell. If they’re as bad what my fuel tank looked like, they gotta be solid of rust/crud.
ocd kicked in on marking all the vacuums and connections. lol.
Fingers crossed I get it all back together and we get running!
Nice time to blank off the EGR valve and replace everything with silicon rubber hoses.. . . .Just remember to twist the old tubing off those plastic nipples .. .Never straight up pull the tubing off a plastic nipple like those plastic solenoids have.. . .Just asking for it to break.
Make sure you replace the rubber seals the injectors sit on.
