Ways to clean Dome light assembly?

So there's a badly rusted terminal for the dome light. Junk doesn't even turn on. Anyone have advice for replacement or know what the part is called? Possibly some lemon juice bath to remove rust? lol. Also, what's with people charging $40+ for some well used hazy plastic dome light covers?

ultrasonic bath perhaps....

Tried using one of those headlight restore kits, no dice. The dome light has all these little creases and crevices on the inside that make it almost impossible to thoroughly clean by hand. For a split second I thought about buying one new

disassemble(all plastic/rubber pieces off), soak in carb cleaner, scrub with toothbrush, blow off with air, dry, reassemble, install.
carb cleaner will clean pretty much anything. or cut your ground wire, lengthen it, put a new connector on the end, and ground it somewhere else.
