Waterpump Removal
Ok, I remember the last time I took my waterpump and housing out, I DID NOT have to remove the e-shaft pulley.
I'm stuck however... I can't get the bottom bolt to fit over the pulley. Again, I didnt remove it last time, as I knew I had to do something funny like keep the clutch pushed down or something or a bearing would get fucked up. This worried me, so I kept it on.
Now how the hell do I get this waterpump off? Its S5 btw.
I think last time when I removed the nuts off the long bolt studs that go through the housing... that it actually removed the entire bolt stud, not sure though.
So if all these studs are in place (this time they stayed put) do I need to remove the pulley?
And to keep from messing up that bearing, all I have to do is stick a rod or something to hold the clutch pressed down all the way?
I looked on ALLDATA, they say to remove the e-shaft pulley, but make no mention of keeping the clutch pressed to keep that bearing in line

You can just take the pullys off without taking the pulley mount off. There are 4 bolts holding the pulleys onto the main mount (i don't remember what it's called). You don't have to take off the front bolt to do this.

Ok, I just said **** it and removed the studs.
However, not to make this thread a total waste.... what is the black sensor for under the temp sensor?

I just used two 12 mm nuts, put them on together and tightened the front one onto the bottom one, and removed the whole stud. Need to clean the threads and stuff anyways I guess.
Thanks guys,
Jon

Jon,
Hey man sup...
How is it coming along. Wish I had known that you were hitting the WP. I just did mine last month and did not even mess with the e-shaft pulley, but I know what you mean by it being a bitch. I did a little creative thinking to get her off he he.
Anyway, let me know how things are going.
Peace.
