I thought it was on the back of the water pump. That or I'm getting it confused with somethign else...

hey.......... thank you for reply. I don't think thats the same thing. I'm looking for the water temp thermosensor which is error code 9 for the 89 gxl s5. I am thinking it's under the alternater but not too sure. Anyway thanks again...

Yeah, if it's the same as an S4 (high likelihood). You might not even have to take off the alternator.
