water temp sensor p/n - can use some help because Mazda part list screws up!

I need one of this fast - it should be a water temp sensor - sits right on the coolant filler neck as shown in the enclosed pic.

Problem is, what's the part number for it?

I checked the part list at

http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7parts.htm

I looked under RX7 86-88 2 OF 3 BODY, page 2-J15, and it shows all the switches and relays. Problem is that the water temp sensor and the water THERMO switch (right behind the waterpump) both have the same part number. And I KNOW they are not the same part...

Help!!

now I am REALLY confused..

I have the 87T2, and looking at the factory service manual, it tells me that this sensor is the water thermo switch that is used to control the electric fan. I have an electric fan?? I don't see it. Heck, in one of the picture, it says for A/T only.

I have an 87T2 manual, so why is it there???

????

On an na the Water Temperture Sensor Is 8574-18-840 and It costs $49.03 can, before discount and taxes. I should know b'c I replaced every Cooling Sensor component In my car being 13yrs old and all. I take Overheating that seriously. I also upgraded my fan to that of an Electric one ( Flex-A-Lite Black Magic #150) from Sumitt.

I believe the electric fan theyre talking about is the AC condenser fan. Sits right in front of the AC condenser. It doesnt blow much air to actually make a difference. I know from experience.

The part you want is E301-18-840A---assuming you want the single pin device on the coolant filler neck.

When all else fails, call Mazdaformance and talk to Brian. He's REALLY sharp on parts, and knows RX-7's. He'll help you find the right part.

Koodos to six rotors...I think you got it right...I hope

I am going to order it tomorrow...what still confuses me is that, when look at Mazda part number index, it tells you that this part is for A/T...and I have a T2..

We'll see...

Thanks for all ya help.
