water temp, oil pressure gauges question

Ok, I think I am going to order some VDO gauges. The problem is, I don't know which senders to get. They have like 50 different sizes and prices. I was hoping someone could help sort this out and tell me which one is right for my car. here are the links:

Oil pressure gauge:
http://www.egauges.com/vdo_mult.asp?...s=Vision&Cart=

Water temp gauge:
http://www.egauges.com/vdo_mult.asp?...s=Vision&Cart=

just click on "choose sender" next to your choice of gauge.

TIA,
Ben

It all depends on where you're planning to mount the sender. Regardless of where you choose its going to have to be custom. Generally 1/8npt drilled and tapped in the water pump housing is the best place for the water temp. I added the fc3s.org oil pedestal to my engine, it has 1/8th npt holes pre-tapped for oil temp and oil pressure. Theres no good place stock to get water temp, and oil pressure stock you'd loose functionality of your stock water temp gauge.

Well that was part of the problem, I don't know where to mount the senders. I think in the water pump housing would work fine, I have it off right now anyways. How much was that oil pedestal thing you are talking about?

if you can get a matching sender, the best place is the location of the stock sender, since no work is required. There's probably a good reason Mazda stuck it there too.

Who cares if the stock gauges don't work? You're replacing them with better ones.

I just found it annoying that they wouldn't work, i dont look at em anymore, but thats me... I had the pump off for a fluid change so I drilled and tapped it.

linky for the oil pedestal. It was cheaper when I bought it, now its like 70 bucks. Its a better design tho, oil doesn't drip all over the damn engine when u remove the filter.

hey thanks for the link.
I dont think i have enough $$ right now for both gauges, so I think I am going to go with just the Temp gauge and send for $50.13 shipped and do the oil pres gauge in a month or two. Thanks everybody.
