which water seals do you have in mind? water pump and housing seals or the internal coolant seals?

The seals are not that expensive (go to www.mazdatrix.com) but to replace them, you have to remove the engine from the car and completely disassemble it. This means you will need seals and gaskets for the other components on the engine. If you are going to this extreme to replace the water seals, you may as well replace all the seals in the engine while the engine is apart, otherwise known as a rebuild.
