water jacket o-rings
do a search, youll find dozens of topics on this.
generally a seal on its way out will leak into the cooling system overpressurizing it and forcing fluid out onto the ground. a seal that is completely gone out generally leaks internally and externally, leaking coolant into the engine resulting in flooding and if you do manage to get it started it is likely to overheat quickly.

I guess i need to clarify. I am talking about the 2 o-rings that go between the lower intake and the engine on the 13b 4-port models. Not to be confused witht the ones that are sandwhiched between the rotor housings. Sorry if i wasn't clear enough.

Failure usually means an external leak that dribbles down from the manifold, or pools near the injectors. In rare cases, it will leak internally, under which circumstances the engine will behave as if it has a failed housing o-ring.
