Water In Intake?

Well its raining right now, and i left my school and came home. I live on a half dirt road half not. I came around the corner right by my driveway. It gets flooded really bad and went through it like I normally do, but this time the car cut off. It started but sounded like poo. I had my father come pull me back to the house and I started it after I sat there for about 10 mins. It started but didnt sound the best so I cut it off immediately. I think I just got water in the intake. I know if a piston engine gets water in it to just let it dry out, but im not sure about the rotary. I hope my engine is still good, only 15k on rebuild.. Also, I have the stock airbox and all and I have the tube going over the rad shroud and it looked wet which led me to believe water got in there.

Thanks for any help

I'd let it run for a while, then change the oil.

Im about due for an oil change anyway. I pulled the air intake off and blew it out and sprayed it with carb cleaner. I have a new airfilter since it was soaked and plugs on the way and will be here at 11 in the morning. pulled the plugs and turned it over for about 3 mins to clean it out. Also there was water in my MAF.. i know its different then the screen ones so is it bad now or no?

Your engine sounds like it will be fine. You did the right thing by taking the plugs out and cranking the engine. Make sure you hold the throttle open when you crank the engine to clear it out. Blow all the water out of the intake with compressed air and let it dry out for a day or two. Change the oil and take it for a 30min+ drive to heat up everything nice and dry.

Thanks man, I just dont want anything to go wrong with my engine since it was jus recently rebuilt. Id hate for it to go to waste. Im getting my plugs today I had to order them though since advance auto doesnt carry them. I also have a new air filter since mine was soaked. I will change the oil. I have 2k on the oil in it now so Ill go ahead and change it. Ill let you know what happens with the new plugs and filter and oil. Thanks
