Wastegate Rattle- 10th Anniversary

As the title states I have this really odd rattle occur whenever I let off the gas. I pin pointed it to my actuator/waste gate.

The actuator arm seemed to be working so I took my down pipe off and removed the backing plate. The waste gate seemed to be very loose and had quite a lot of play. I uploaded a video to show you.

What can I do to fix this issue?

You need to get a good use exhaust housing and with that I don't think you have or will have strong boost because it is not holding pressure

im sure boost is fine. i actually think i have this rattle too. just noticed it today. its play between the rod and the "sheeth" but remember that the exhaust gas puts pressure on the flapper door to shut it.

if it bothers you, someone that rebuilds turbos can probably fix it, or you can get a new housing. or let it go. hate to say it.

The hinge bushing is worn out. You'll have to separate the shaft to replace the bushing.

I just bought a decent used housing and swapped everything over.

Yes, quite a lot of the people on this forum have BNR rebuilt/modified turbos:
