waste gate actuator banjo bolt

I pulled my engine out a little over a week ago. After I pulled it I decided to leave it on the engine hoist rather than put it on the ground. After leaving the engine for a week the hoist had lost some pressure and the engine was now sitting on the ground. When I reinstalled the engine I noticed that the banjo bolt that holds the vacuum line to the waste gate actuator had broken off. I took a little trip to advanced auto to see if they had anything. As I suspected they had nothing so i decided to make one myself.

Sorry the pics aren't the best.

Broken Bolt

I used a drill press and vice to drill down the bolt (could probably be done with vice grips and a hand drill if you are careful)

The I drilled the hole through the side in the same location as the original, using the same method.

After grinding some material away from the bolt around the side hole I had the finished product. The whole thing took about 10 minutes.

So if you are ever in a pinch like I was just know that this can be done fairly easily. Hope this helps!

The wastegate doesnt have a banjo bolt. I think you are confusing it with the fitting for the twin scroll actuator assembly which does have the banjo bolt.

I can't tell from the pictures, but you did drill a second hole vertically to connect to that hole you made in the side, right? Otherwise no air will flow to the twin scroll actuator.

Sorry, I guess the drawing I was looking at wasn't very detailed and it looked like it was for the waste gate. Thank you for the correction.
