Warning Light Gauge Pod - Carbon

This is the final rendering of the Warning Light Pod (WLP). The final decision does not include for the stock warning lights. A relocation kit for this item will be announced within two weeks.

The WLP houses three gauges. Customer may choose from 2-1/8 or 2-5/8 holes in any of the three spots. Customer may also choose to leave any number of spots closed for future gauge requirements. The WLP design allows for a 2-27/32 gauge rim bezel or smaller. This is the standard size for the Autometer 2-5/8 gauge.

The mold for this part is due to be cut on Thursday, August 22nd. The first few parts that are pulled from the mold will be made from fiberglass. Once the mold has had 5 good parts pulled we will accept orders. We estimate this to be the fallowing Thursday. Payment information will be issued on that day. Pictures of the mold and parts will be available then as well.

Orders will be shipped on a first come first served basis. You may send an email to compositewerx@attbi.com to reserve a ship date. Current scheduling figures have us shipping a minimum of 4 units each Friday. If the lead time for parts exceeds a two week "Pending", "order to ship" time frame a second mold will be cut.

Product information follows:

A) 3 gauge Warning light pod replaces the stock warning light cluster and plastic cover.
B) This product fits S4 Second generation Mazda Rx7s. (See below for S5 info)
C) Supplied pre trimmed and ready to install gauges.
D)Customer dictates hole sizes for each of the three hole with 2-5/8 maximum diameter.
E) Accurate pricing and payment options will be established by August 29nth. Currently estimated at $122.60 + shipping in US funds.

*Note* - If you send an email as described above you will be contacted one week before your ship date. You would need to make sure we have received funds 5 days before your ship date or the product will be shipped to the next in line. Bellow you will find a list of pre-orders, Pending orders, confirmed orders, and ship dates. A pre-order means you have sent an email to receive a ship date. A pending order means you have been sent an email with your ship date and payment instructions. A confirmed order means the funds have been received and are awaiting ship date. Once shipped, you will receive and email and this page will be updated.

*Note2* - We would like to know if this part will fit the S5 cars. If some one could send us digital pictures of a S5 surround installed into an S4 dash (You will need to remove the warning light cluster to install the trim surround), We will release the part for S5 installations.

Apparently you are only able to modify a post for 30 minutes after it created. I will be unable to modify the original post for pre-orders and such.

The pictures sent by banzaitoyota show that the recess in the dash of an S4 and S5 are the same. So we will release this design for any year second generation Mazda rx7.

Will this relocation kit be incorporated into the pod with the gauges??

BTW, there is only 2 different idiot light surrounds. The early cars ('86 and some '87s) had the lens on the lights slope towards the driver at the bottom, whereas the later cars had the idiot lights that sloped towards the driver at the top. If the idiot light cluster is to be removed altogether, this isn't an issue at all - the dash that the pod will attach to is the same, '86-91.

So what are your ideas for the warning cluster relocation kit?

How hard would it be to route the gauges back there though? It seems as if it would be a job requiring the dash to be partly removed or something.

FC3AZ,

All you will need to do is remove the grill inserts and metal dash cover near the windshield. You will snake the gauge inputs through the hole that the warning light harness came through. With the panel removed you have access to drop the gauge inputs down and then from under the dash you find the hole through the firewall.

IAN,

retail pricing has not been 100% finalized yet. The first post explains when we will have this finalized as well as payment options. We do have an estimate posted though.

I made one for mine a while back, and offered it for 75$ with no takers, go figure. Mine holds a 2 1/16" egt guage and has room for 2 din sized units(TT, and Boost controler). However I couldnt/cant think of a way to efficiently relocate the warning cluster. Its a great spot for guages, right in the line of sight. Good luck with the sales.

just to let you know they sell the pods on ebay that are universal that fit exactly. Kevin Landers has on on his vert in it looks killer. I hope that you are making your own and not passing off the universal ones because that would be kinda shitty
