Wanting to go stock S5 Turbo
Wanting to go stock S5 Turbo, but can't find any complete usdm parts set. I am thinking about picking up a jdm s5 tii engine just to use parts like the intercooler, throttle body, etc.
Is this possible? Would I need the jdm harness or can I use my own usdm harness and just plug and play?

the JDM engine is basically the same as the US engine. you can use your S5 NA harness, the 6 port and VDI need to turn into the boost control and knock sensor, and that is it.
since these engines are so old, its not a bad idea to pull the JDM engine apart and at least replace all the rubber stuff.

well my usdm was rebuilt not long ago. right now i have a greddy intercooler setup, but i am wanting to go stock. if i can just use everything except the short block and ecu, that'd be great.

Most all the JDM stuff is an easy swap, I've ripped apart two or three swapping bits and pieces back and forth. It uses a spring loaded throttle stop screw that's a bitch to adjust for a US market ECU so I'd swap the throttle body and idle air control, otherwise it's pretty simple.
