I'm having a friend help me install a couple of gauges this week and would like my gauges to illuminate when I turn on the park lights. It would be helpful to get a head start on which wire.

He just did his '87 TII but mine's a '90 TII and might be a different wire?

 

90% of the time it'e the red wire with a black tracer. use the one from the stereo. if your looking under the dash grab the red wire with a black tracer. (test light would be very very useful right about now) good luck!

 

if you have a test light,put your parkers on and try finding what wire comes on with the test light,make sure it goes off as you switch of the parkers as well.
Thats the easiest way.

 

Thanks guys, a friend has a test light; I just wanted to minimize the search for the correct wire.

 

I tapped my power for my guages through the light bulb on the lighter in the dash. Any bulb that comes on when your lights go on will work as a power supply

 

on my talon i tapped it in to the dimmer switch on the dash, that way it came on with the dash lights and the brightness could be adjusted.
