believe me you wont **** this up DONT USE EPOXY or any of that **** because if you go to grab second hard and break it its gonna suck driving home with a 2 inch shifter and also VERY IMPORTANT when you weld it back together make sure its straight unless you like bent shifters

bring it to a welding shop they'll probably charge you 10 bucks or a garage or a bodyshop it's so easy to weld they might even do it for free if they already have the welder out

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesnt just cutting down the height of the shifter give a feel or a shorter shift. I'm all for shortening the height of the shifter but IIRC you must change the fulcrum point for it to be a true short throw shifter.
BTW I have a C's short shifter and love it.

The thing is, someone has a C's shifter and the feel is nice but not so much different from mine that made me pull it out and get a "true short shifter". I've gotten used to mine and gives me a positive shift whether at the tracks or just cruising and doesn't need a lot of force as some would think. I think when it involves brackets, linkages and rod like with other transmissions then it makes a bigger difference.

I have a C short shifter and the throw is literally half that of my buddies s5 TII. You probably move it about .5" and you can put it in 1st or 2nd. I've felt other ss's and they were terrible, mine is nice and smooth. I measure the top of the shifter from putting it in 1st to 2nd and the move was 2.5in" between the shift. I put the original shifter **** on it for a clean look.

I just took a shift **** off of an old volkswagen and put it on. It lowered it about 11/2 inches. It just looks a little ghetto b/c reverse is by first on the vw shiftknob
