Did you know.....
The FC shifter has 2 parts and between it is a hard rubber to insulate from vibrations. It is breakable on a bench and vice grip. I've done it on a boring day.
The lower part is not threaded so you cannot use a stock shifter. Clean out the rubber glued onto the lower part and attach a nice shifter ***. I suggest you do it on a spare so if you **** it up at least you can drive your car.
The mod will drop about 2 inches from stock. The shift will be short . A flick of the wrist will get you into gear.

im pretty sure the mazdatrix short shifter comes w/ shifter bushings, none of the others do to my knowledge. thats about $30 right there
added value w/ included parts

sorta like racing beat with their flywheels, look a lil pricey until you figure out that the included counterweight is another $100

Higgi has some great short shifters. Support the forum folks like Higgi.

Only other one I'd use is a mazdatrix.

NEGATIVE!!!!!!! just wrap the top half up in a rag and put it in a vise then take a torch and wrap a rag around the bottom half (NOT A PAIR OF PLIERS BECAUSE IF YOU PUT DIGS IN THE BALL THEY'LL **** UP YOUR BUSHINGS) and once the rubber melts than pull and it will be in 2 pieces then just clean the rubber off the bottom half, cut the top to where you want it and weld it believe me its not rocket science and it feels great 1 click click 2 click click 3 click click 4 up over click 5 ive never missed a gear with it hope this helps!
