I put in the toe elim. bushings a couple week ago. It is the best suspension mod you can do for your FC. If you are interested in drifing you NEED these. I went to driftsession a while ago but couldnt keep my car hanging. Not having a functioning lsd doesnt help but the car would correct or spin. There was no inbetween. Now with the bushing my car feels like a rwd car should. If my lsd worked properly I could probally keep the car sliding. I did it in the rain. You can do the bushing with basic tools and a dramel or diegrinder. I was going to press them but it was sunday and no shops were open.
Hopefully I can "hang" with the 240&86 guys at driftsession next time.

saw a 86 coralla srs yesterday at the junk yard when i was scoping out for some s5 tail lights for my s4. i would have baught it if they didn't have another car stacked on top of it. im shure i coulda got it for like 200 bux. there was also a old old school 200 sx, a realy nice 280Z turbo, and two s4's (crushed of coarse)... i would love to get the srs and build a 4ag just for it(althought the rex would always be better)...

Are you freakend kidding me? Hawaii has no open places to drift/learn how to drift and only 1 crappy/small track! Plus we got cops up the ******* here (I really can't figure out why we have this many cops for an island you can drive around in 1-2 hours)!

I think he means that there are organized drift events. Anywhere you go your gonna have a hard time finding a big open lot or street where noone is gonna call the cops. Even in seattle its hard. Theres always one guy at work late who gets pissed at all the screaching and reving, decides to call the cops.

I will never understand why people call the cops when you are drifting or doing donuts in an empty parking lot. You arent hurting anything but your tires, and maybe your tranny/clutch.

Maybe one day when you graduate high school and move out of the house you will live on your own and realize the world is not created around you. Putting your car into a 'drift' is not only dangerous but it reiterates most young drivers attitudes of 'all show and no go'. Is the point of drifting to keep the car as much in control while out of control? Sounds like drunk driving to me... both in my book not a good idea.

And maybe one day you'll grow up too and realize the world doesn't revolve around you either. It's terribly unfair of you to criticize a sport I'm willing to bet you know very little about. That's like saying drag racing is "all go and no skill." I'm not attacking you, so please don't misunderstand, rather, take this as a friendly criticism of your logic.

Drifting is about keeping your IN control. Out of control has nothing to do with it.

Steve

P.S. None of what I just said applies to NASCAR or any of it's affiliates. It's still a crap sport IMO.

Dude, people call the cops because you do not own the parking lot. You are a big liability. If you wrap your car around a pole and kill your self. Your loved ones will think it was not your fault. They will go after the owner. "Why didnt you restrict access!!!" "I will now sue you for 1 million" With the crazy lawsuits out there it may stick.

Thats my opinon.

So with the toe eliminators does it do any good if you don't want to drift?

James

That's really dependent on a person's driving skills, but... in general, I think pretty much anyone here who's into motorsports(autox and the like) reading this would like it. It lets you "feel" a whole lot more connected with the rear end of the car and you won't have to worry about snap oversteer rearing it's ugly head. Basically, the toe eliminators remove the blindfold that you wear when you're cornering in the car, allowing you to ride the fine edge of traction limits easier.

Those old bushings are probably like tar now. Mine were. So they don't even work like they were originally intended to by the Mazda engineers. Get them if you like to turn you car to the left or right. After I put them in I wondered what took me so long to do it. This is a must do if you autoX ever.

I autoX very regularily. I go to lapping days whenever possible. I also like practicing drifting. Why? Because it's all fun. Skills with one can compliment the other as well. Try it out and you'll know it's value. Or here's something, try it and have some fun. Once you start getting paid to be utter perfection behind the wheel and have perfect lap times in a profession race then yes, maybe you ought not drift. Otherwise, drift on. It seems that there are types that don't know how to respect those that enjoy their cars in other ways than they do. They already have their mind made up with what they think drifting is. They are entitled to their opinion as wrong as it might be. Hey, opinions can be wrong after all. Hitler had his opinions. That didn't make them right.

I personally believe MisRed needs to be banned from this forum because of his beliefs like drifting is so stupid there are a lot of Rx7 owners who drift the hell out of they're car and what is up with your head in your *** views with buicks like a '87 Buick Grand National is too good of a car to drag race with . I personally think everyone should of flamed your *** for putting a V6 what the **** are you thinking you *** when people do piston swaps for rotarys they do v8's but Rotarys rock i have said what i wanted to say
so you can go back to ****** beliefs.

Ok, MisRed wasn't HALF as inflammatory as you just were. I mean, c'mon.... name calling? How does your attack of his car or his preference in racing make you ANY better than he was in his initial post? What you just said was enough to get you banned, or at least warned, and this thread closed, before it turns into a flame war....

BoostedRx7 = ***, yes you are both being ****, engine swaps are cool, his car has so much potential. i've seen grand nationals go 10s on the stock turbo, imagine a 1000lbs worth of weight reductions he has an easy car to go 9s in.

boostedrx7 you personally think he should be flamed, i personally think your a ******* moron

now i have been as ignorant as both of you

Im not knocking his car but man i hate seeing RX-7s with engines other than rotarys in them.
Still that is probally the best engine swap next to a 2JZ-GTE to go in an FC

On to something relevant... Drifting is an artform that should be kept off the street...I love drifting and i do it on common roads everyday but i do think about the fact that its dangerous and it could possibly kill someone or even myself if i were to screw up or loose control because something were to break on my car. I think that drifting should be kept on the track or on tv not on the real world streets

on the streets is where drifting started. there is only so much to learn in a parking lot and its already an expensive enough pastime with replacing parts and stuff. adding on more $ to rent a track for one day of sliding isnt worth it. i cant even justify doing it at an Auto-x or a driving school day. i drift on the streets because its just plain better. with boundaries such as curbs and real turns skills are refined much better than they could be in an empty parking lot or on an auto-x cross going through cones. i make it as safe as possible. i dont do it in traffic, only late at night on roads i know and have no traffic or residence. also i dont do it all the time, just occasionaly. havent done it in months actualy. its dangerous, yes. risky, very. but its rewarding at the same time.
