Wait for my upgrade or start now?

Ok i wanted to know if i should upgrade my fuel rail, injectors, spark plugs, cables, and other things before or after i get my engine rebuilt. Its N/A and is completely bone stock but my engine has 175k miles on it and it wasn't really beat on. So im stuck on this discussion and don't know what to do.

I am kind of struggling with that as well.

It all depends on how much you love the car... I'm about to turn over 176,000 miles on my car..that's not to say that the mileage on the chassis and transmission are the same as on the motor, because it's very clear someone did a rather poor engine swap on my car. Mileage on this motor is unknown. I have yet to compression test it, but I will at some point. Based on that outcome I will probably end up upgrading my suspension and getting a better set of brake pads onto it. The exhaust would be the next upgrade. Skimping is for jackasses, I will be going for a full Racing Beat exhaust.

It's a 20 year old car, man. It's going to have parts gradually or maybe not so gradually wear out...switches will fail. Things have got to be replaced on any old car.

So the real question is... How much do you love your car?

i love rx7s since i was 13 and they always been my favorite car but i was already planning on my new rotors and pads and suspension. I just wanted to know is it worth me spending the money on engine upgrades before i rebuilt it. The previous owner was the original owner and he knew how that there was 175k miles on the engine. Only thing he had that was after market was the radio, alternator, and Bola exhaust.

Get the injectors cleaned.

There arent really any upgrades you can do to an NA, maybe a megasquirt ems, that combined with a header and highflow cat will give you the most power.

Those things don't need upgrading. I assume you mean you want to replace the old stuff with new. I'd send out the injectors for cleaning and replace the spark plugs with new ones, at the least. I have no clue what to do with the rest.

Do a forum search to find power/suspension upgrades.
