Waht makes a Turbo II Weigh almost 200lbs more?

What exactly makes a Tubo II car weigh so much more, I mean I can understan liek 50 lbs due to the turbo and the bigger wheels, but other thant that, whay on earth does it weigh so much more?

turbo, intercooler, piping for turbo cooling, transmission is beefier, wheels, fuel pump, wheels...

The tranny is the biggest difference from TII to N/A

The rear differential is also much heavier as it is physically larger 8" ring gear vs. non T2 size of 7".

The 5 lug 4 piston caliper brakes are actually lighter than the 4 lug version by 10lbs! Thank you aluminum.

have you considered that when a 200lb person is given the choice of a TII over an N/A, they would pick the TII.

were you in the car at the time of the weigh in?

The TII tranny only weighs 25# more than the N/A tranny. Its a culmination of the drietrain and turbo specific parts that add up to the extra 200# over a comperable N/A. When I say comperable I mean they both have a sun roof, electric windows, etc......
