I've been using Castrol 20W50 in the summer and 10W30 in the winter (conventional) for the past couple of years.

Before I rebuilt the TII I had always used Penzoil, but when I tore down the engine there was a yellow coating all over the inside, and my brother in law noticed the same thing when he replaced the water pump on my sister's old Cavalier (you have to take off the timing cover). I don't know if that's really a bad thing, but it didn't sit well with me.

I live in a climate where it can got cold in the summer and scorching in the summer. Do you guys suggest running 20w-50 in the summer and then 10w-30 in the winter?

I don't have a TII, only an NA, but I've used Quaker State 10w30 for three years now, with no problems. In fact, my father has been using that oil on all the cars he's owned for most of his life, and as far as I know he's never had ANY engine problems. Certainly not during my lifetime, anyway.
