volt and oil problem
well i was driving on the freeway and then all of a sudden i notice that my volt were at like 10v. so i looked at my oil pressure and it was at around 40 45psi. so i pulled over and then looked in the engine and nothing was wrong so i drove home and checked it out. i just assumed that the alternator was dead and it killed my battery. so i got a new alt and batt. well my volts wont go past 12 but it stays constant and i can start every time. but my oil wouldn't go past 40-45psi. well i installed an aftermarket one and then now i get(off of a mechanical autometer auto gage) about 2 bars above 0 and about 2 bars below 75. any thoughts on this. thank all.

The oil pressure is not dependent on the voltage, it is purely engine speed and the regulator.
I am a little confused at your problem though. Is the car working now? Are you still seeing low pressure? Low voltage?

the car drives and all and starts up fine. but the volts never go past 12v on a new battery and new alternator. also the aftermarket gauge gives me readings of 2bars above 0 and then about 2 bars below 75psi.

Bro please don't trust the stock voltage gauge! I just had my alternator replace and it still reads a little above 12 while i am driving. Just use a voltage meter and measure the voltage. (s4 should be getting high 13 or lowr 14v when there is no load and idle) As far as the oil pressure goes it changes as the oil get thinner from use i guess. BUt do what ever but don't trust the stock voltage gauge!!!

start the car, measure the voltage at the battery terminals, compare to the stock gage...now you're "calibrated" (if you got 14.4v at the batt and the cluster gage reads 12v, you'll know how far the gage is off for future reference), and, you've just checked out the entire charging system...
