Visual inspections on exhaust.....
I would rather buy the Racing Beat cat replacement with pre-silencer and the cat back for my '88. Where I live they don't do emissions but just the normal visual. What do you guys do ? Is this legal ? If the "stock" 14 yr old cats are clogged what is allowable? The other option is Bonez Hi-flo cat with RP cat back. I would rather have the gains of the Racing Beat but if the Bonez is legal...... who knows?
Does anyone have experience with either? Sounds?
Performance?
Thanks!

Are you referring to the cat replacement pipe with presilencer? If so, no it is not street legal and most likely won't pass a visual inspection without a little persuasion. But I suppose you could gut your existing cat and have it welded around the presilencer to pass a visual inspection, but you didn't hear that from me.

Yes it is the cat replacement pipe with pre-silencer. Does anyone know if there are gains to be had with the Hi-Flo cat? I guess any new hi-flo cat would be better than my exisitng probably clogged cat.

The bonez RP has a precilencer that you can get off as calling a cat and this is the one I think I will be going with. No one knows about these damn cars just tell him the rotary engine doesn't run hot, therefore there is only need for one Cat. After the word Rotary I am sure they will just be like WTF? And you will be fine. I believe this is the route I am going to take.
