Violent Bucking <- FIXED
Well I pulled the fuel pump on my 86 n/a Daily driver, and on the low pressure fuel filter I found about a 1.25 inch layer of sediment, actually its just really fine bits of rust, all over the filter, replaced the filter with the mazda stock replacement and for the past week I have not experienced the problem. In that time period I have gone through about 2.5 tanks of gas, and gone about 1800 miles without the problem rearing its ugly head. Now it is just a matter of having the gas tank professionally cleaned, or I may just replace it.

i had this happen to me when i first bought my 87 base about a year ago with only 50k miles.....it sat for a pretty long time and the gas tank was full of crazy amount of sediments like sand and rust.....eventually my fuel pump went so i replaced with rx7.com pump and new gas tank from mazdareclycing.....

very similar to my problem. I bought this car from some redneck that had it sitting in his parents garage for about 4 years. it wouldnt run so he replaced the fuel pump and sold me the car for $1k, damn good deal for a daily driver, keeps me from driving my carbureated baby.
