what kind of powdercoating did you have done?
i have a white 90 GTUs and is thinking about getting my wheels repaired and powdercoated in gold or dark grey (not sure what the exact name of the colors are).

what are some costs to factor in terms repair and powdercoat?

Yo,

First off:

Yup, you're lucky alright...lucky enough to have another NA RX7.
I saw that BoostedRotors! Slammin' the NA. Man, you blow an apex seal or something? Lighten up! You need the NA RX-7's to give ya rides to the shop when you pop your motors. *grin*

To answer the Q about powdercoating, it cost about $40 per wheel, that included the acid dip that got rid of all the old clearcoat, etc. I don't know how badly curbed/bent yours are or what that would cost.

Hope that helped! Welcome to the club!

no, unfortunately not yet.
imo, it looks the same as the 89 GTUs.

but anyhow, my 90 GTUs is white with no body add-ons.
thinking about getting the mazdaspeed frontlip from www.rotaryextreme.com. and i wanted some 17" wheels but i want to re-install my clutch and get a lightweight flywheel so i might just get my wheels powdercoated.

anybody know any good shop in orange county to have my wheels fixed? they have curb rash and one wheel has a dent. also i want them acid dipped prior to getting them powdercoated.

as soon as i get some pics i'll post them.

It's all about us GTUs people sticking together. If you are going to have the powder coating done make sure that the shop that does it does not bake the old topcoat off. If they do that they bake it to an insane temp changing the dynamics of the metal making it more brittle. It should be either sand blasted off or acid dipped. There ya go

Hey, did anyone else notice that while Kevin was pulling onto the dyno, the song in the background was singing "She's a brick, and I'm drowning slowly...."
