Vibrations at 1k to 3k

Anyone have this prob or know what it could be???
At idle from 1k to 3k i feel a vibration on the steering wheel and a little on the shifter. I look at the engine and it doesn't shake at all, and u can't feel any vibrations. Only on the steering wheel and a bit on the shifter. Anyone know whats up?? Just started happening 2 days ago, and the car is driving fine that i know of. Hope someone can help.

At Idle, good question.

Driving down the road:

Shaking steering wheel, has to be alignment, tire out of balance or out of round, bent wheel perhaps (but not likely)

Shaking shifter, bad tranny mount most likely. Maybe bad U joint shaking things up.

But shaking only at 1-3 K? I dunno.............

It doesn't vibrate at all while driving? Hmm, weird. If it starts to you might wanna look into a new driveshaft.

Doah, my bad, i missed the "viberates at idle"

Shake at idle? is it a rough idle?

Question: If your motor mounts were bad would the engine rock or move more even while idling?

Im not expert but thats what came to my head

The engine doesn't shake at all.

At idle u feel a little vibration. Feels like when u spin a ball in a loop. U can sense something spinning around. Something like that. At idle u can barely feel it, but as it goes above 1k towards 3k the feeling gets faster and faster and when it goes over 3k u can't feel it hardly at all.

While driving u can feel it a bit, but its tough to tell because of the bumps on the street and i have a full suspension, so i feel every little thing. But the car pulls fine and goes fine. I just hope its nothing serious, but i can't figure it out I'm having a rough week!!!!

did you check the tention of all your belts?? it could be a loose or worn belt or tentioner that could explain why you feel it go away at higher rpm. other than that BIG MAYBE leading coil it's probably not but doesn't hurt to check

Just curious, is the vibration load dependant? IE WOT shakes more than decel?

IF your rolling then its out of balance and you need a front end alignment a key way to see is if your wheel shakes which it does so go get a 40 buck alignment not a $130 because rx7s rarely go out of alignment so its not really worth 130 unless you feel it is peace
