vibration after rear end and diff removal
vibration after rear end and diff removal
ok, so ill edit this for more help maybe,
so last year drove the fc no crazy issues had solid alum motor mounts stock trans mounts, shitty suspension, didnt have anycrazy vibrations other then when on the dyno at high high speed did my tuner note to me, that theres driveline vibrations he hinted at the drive shaft, so that was months ago, at that time, i could go to redliine no issues ith minimal vibrations its 30 years old and has solid mounts so i expect some vibrations, sitting still, in netrual or clutch in free rev there was always a vibration, but always sounded like something was loose inside the car under the dash or something so i discredited it as it will go away when i take the time to redo everyhing under the dash, now to current time, i got my car back on the road, transmission is gunk, no return to center spring, leaks baddly, syncros are toast, cant shift smooth ly, so i got a new to me trans tore it apart inspected it (removed tailshaft hosing and bell housing and belly pan, all looked extremly clean so got new seals, and cleaned it up, took a weekend installed the new trans as well as poly engine and trans mounts and it worked awesome, took it for a drive with out my rb exhaust on (had the dp and presilencer on) didnt feel any vibrations, just the insane drone of the rotary with out a exhaust, put the car back up on the hoist ,redid all my brakes ,rebuilt my rear calipers, dropped the whole rear sub and diff, installed poly lca bushing/dtss bushing and solid delrin diff bushings, (ordered mazdaspeed front diff mount as mine is torn) put it all back together, torqued all bolts to fsm installed brand new BC racing coilovers first drive, the vibrations above 2krpm are insane, speed isnt dependant, can be 80kmh clutch in to netural rpm at idle car is smooth as hell, so i have no idea what now is causing vibration only when the car is under load, or acually acceling... no idea and not happy haha just want to drive my car.

Holy run on sentence! Sounds to me like you've had your hands all over this car. I would start by retracing your steps and make sure every nut and bolt is tight especially if its rotational like wheels, axle stub nuts, drive shaft nuts and bolts etc. check your dif and transmission fluid. Keep in mind that the more stiff bushings you install the more and more noise and vibration will be transmitted through the body of the car. A thirty year old car can rattle and buzz easily if you take all the cushion out of every bushing and mount.

sorry wanted to cover all my bases haha, issue is it vibrates even out of gear stationary, so thats my big concern at the moment, i may have not used correct counterweights so maybe after removing all the rubber mounts its very noticeable now
