Here is the deal.
2 weeks ago car would not start, sprayed carb cleaner into throttle body, it starts.
Ever since then it has had starting problems.
Before anyone write it off as compression, it was able to only lose to a 500+ rwhp supra by about 4-6 cars from 70-160mph.
Drove fine Saturday(hit 160mph again with same Supra).
Parked it, came out to start it again(only off for about 10min) would not start. Spray in carb cleaner again, get it to start.
The only problem is that it is smoking like a big dog
You can hit boost in 1st, 2nd sometimes, no way in the top 3 gears. It just sputters. Idle is fine, has good vacume, makes good power if you can get it in boost. Plugs are 2 weeks old, they appear to be fine, both coils are firing.
Other symptoms
open the oil cap, and it smokes
backfires alot, i mean loud *** backfires.

Just registered for NOPI, now my car is messed up

Sorry I can't help with your problem, I just wanted to say that I went to your web site and your car is FREAKIN AWSOME!!!!!

 

Sounds similar to what mine has been doing. I can't figure it out. I think its the Haltech. There have been wiring issures and possibly problems with my primary injectors. We replaced the pri injectors and it ran fine for a while. Now, its back in lawnmower mode.

Did you ever do a compression test? What does your coolant look like? Does it sound like a leaf blower or a lawnmower?

Sounds like leaking injectors and timing way off to me.

 

yep, probably timing is advanced to much. You should re set the timing and see how the car feels. Hopefully you'll run at full power still!
