Vert window regulator replacement

Does anyone know if the entire FSM has to be followed to replace the regulator in the driver's door? It says to take out the quarter glass, division channel and Subguide, I'm just wondering if it's all necessary or if I can skip directly to removing the glass and regulator?

When I did mine I did not use the FSM and I ended up taking all that off, so I would say its not a option.

It does not take that long to do, not as bad as it sounds.

Hmm, thanks. So far the worst part is all the black goop on the inside of the weathershield, lol. I hope there isn't a lot of adjustment needed after it goes back together, the fsm makes that look like a PITA too...

i changed the passenger side regulator on my vert. idk if its adjusted wrong or what but its really slow. when i first got the part i tested it out of the car and the motor worked great. i just assume its not lined up 100% i have a spare motor if i blow the one in my door.
it isnt that difficult to change, just takes a little maneuvering to get everything out. i didnt take out the guide thats closest to the hinge.
