Vert upgrades....

Hey guys - I am planning on building my vert.

I am still torn between F/I and small block...

There are pros and cons to either or.
I am leaning towards F/I, but if I do that, I will be converting the entire drivetrain to Turbo II.

Will a 2nd gen Turbo II hood fit on a reg vert?

FYI - I did search..... no luck

I don't see why the hood wouldn't fit. I've seen vert with them before.

If you end up going the piston route you should upgrade the drivetrain anyway.

Yeah - if I went small block i would, but.....There is just something about having a rotary under there.....

I really think I want to stay with the 13b

I don't know much about puting small blocks into rx-7s but if you want to stay rotary then the best option would a TII engine swap. It's relatively cheap and has enough power and potential.

Of course the hood fits. The verts in Japan came turbo with the turbo hood. A TII swap will be far easier than a piston swap since the 13bt pretty much just drops in.

However, if you are going to do a TII swap you should consider going with a front mount intercooler and keeping the stock hood. Looks like more of a sleeper that way, and when people come up beside you they won't see the hood scoop and think your easy pickings... until you blow their doors off and see the look of total disbelief on their faces.
