Vert took a "Big Grizzley"!!

It was raining today so I figured instead of the bike I had better drive the Vert to work. I started it up and magically the clock started working.. Then the car died. I started it back up and it was running all crappy and idling very low (about 300rpm) I tried to let it warm up, so I went inside. Came out and hopped in, the car had no power and actually couldn't make it up the steep hill of my driveway!! (the clock stopped working BTW)..

I let the tank get low earlier last week and the car started acting funny, hesitations, ect. I think all the sludge from sitting for 3 years clogged up the fuel filter. Off to autozone to buy a new $27 filter and hope this clears things up.

When the car idles it sounds like it "has a cam" for those into piston engines you know the sound when a car has a huge cam......

Anyways I hope that is all it is, I really need to hunt down and murder all my vacume leaks too...

I'll bet the fuel pump pickup strainer is clogged also.

The car is about 1 week away from the 6 port turbo install. I was basically jsut breaking the motor back in in N/A form as it had been sitting for about a year. I have a full 6 port setup ready to go on Next weekend...

Here is another weird thing, it has all kinds of power in the High rpm range, but nothing in the low.... under 3k rpm it has a max speed of 5mph, over 3k screamin'....

hmmm it sounds similar to an AFM problem I had once, but not entirely. However if you've got a spare its definetly worth a shot.

Well the AFM didn't change anything...

I can actually hear the Fuel pump "straining" I wonder if the filter is so clogged that the pump is working extra hard..... Or maybe the pump itself is dying....
